Your donations do the following and more:

Provide grants to local schools for orchestra programs
Provide scholarships for elementary and middle school students to participate in FOAS programs
Cover costs for FOAS programs (rentals, communications, staff, and more)
Provide experience for new conductors and orchestra coaches

The Mary Kay Polashek Student Scholarship Fund

Mary Kay Polashek was the Orchestra Director at Ames High School from 1987-2022. Her outstanding connection with students, passion for all genres of music, innate ability to bring out the best in others, and dedication to youth orchestra programming in Central Iowa inspired thousands of young musicians. As a teacher, musician, director, and volunteer, Mary Kay created a lasting legacy!

The Mary Kay Polashek Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving high school senior who plans to continue with music education in college.
